WELCOME TO PERFORMING ARTS & MEDIA ENTERTAINMENT

The Performing Fine Arts & Media Entertainment concentration seeks to connect technical excellence and mastery with the creative expression of each student’s individual abilities and skills. The vision and goal of this concentration is to equip students to become communicators of beauty and truth in their chosen field. Potential career paths include: actor, singer, dancer, choreographer, composer, film director and producer.

Meet the Dean

NATALIE TAYLOR

Natalie Taylor serves as the fine arts dean at VCS and holds a BA in music, with an emphasis in vocal performance and music business. She has been performing and singing since the age of seven in numerous musical theatre productions, choirs, bands, recordings and concerts. Most recently, she performed at Disneyland in The Voices of Liberty, an eight-part acapella show and was a featured soloist for the Candlelight Processional with Kurt Russell and Dick Van Dyke. Other credits include: The Queen of the Night in Mozart's The Magic Flute, Rosa Bud in The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Hong Kong Disneyland quartet, guest soloist with the Golden State Pops Orchestra and Orange County Pops Orchestra, Dunkin' Donuts National TV commercial and background vocals for the Red Hot Chili Peppers. In addition to serving as the fine arts dean, she is also the Fine Arts Academy director, and also teaches private lessons in beginning piano and voice.

MEET PETER PERFORMING ARTS

Peter chose performing arts because of his ability as a singer and actor and his passion for performing. In his sophomore year he will take classes in choir and theater arts. He pursues private voice and group dance lessons from our Fine Arts Academy and is inspired by our teachers who are industry professionals. In his junior year he will take courses in theater production and music appreciation. He will perform in the fall play and in the spring musical. He will audition for the Los Angeles Music Center Spotlight Awards. As a senior, he will direct the elementary musical for his Senior Project, perform in the Chapel Band, and work in a community theater group and intern at a recording studio. He will graduate and audition for theater and choral programs at the college choice.
