Head Athletic Trainer, Diana Putignano leads an extensive sports medicine team including an orthopedic surgeon, two certified athletic trainers, two undergraduate athletic training students, and 10 high school athletic training students.

In addition, the VCS sports medicine team is connected to Glendale Adventist Medicinal Center, Orthopedic Surgery Specialists and Stetson Powell Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, making the best possible care readily available for all student-athletes.

Our mission is to provide prevention, emergency care, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation of athletic injuries and medical conditions.

Head Athletic Trainer - Diana Putignano

Diana Putignano is a Certified Athletic Trainer with a Bachelors in Exercise Science from the University of Iowa and a Masters in Education from Arizona State University. She began her journey at VCS in 2008 as the Head Athletic Trainer. Diana currently teaches Human Anatomy and Physiology and Sports Medicine courses and serves as a clinical preceptor for the Athletic Training Education Program at California State University, Northridge. She is married and has two daughters, Abigail and Brielle.
