Setting up Type to Learn - Elementary
1. Open TTL program
2. If “VCS” appears, click OK.
–If not, click “Set Data Path”
-Type “J:\TTLElemData” and click OK.
–Click OK when “VCS” shows as teacher name.
3. Click OK to enter program
4. Select the Room # for your class and click OK.
5. Click OK on the Directions popup window.
6. Click on “Window”, “Add Student”
7. Enter Student Name. – Use Last Name, First Name format.
8. If you have students who have used TTL before, you may want to start them on a higher lesson. You do this by individualizing. Step 9 explains.
9. You can individualize student plans by using the Teacher menu and select “Individualize. . “
-Press Control, Alt, T at the same time.
-Type the password – draobyek
-Select the class and/or student you want to edit and make the appropriate changes.

How to “Fix It” when Student Files Get Locked in TTL
1. Enter the Type to Learn program.
2. Select the Room # for your class and click OK.
3. Add the Teacher Menu to your menu bar by..
-Press Control, Alt, T at the same time.
-Type the password – draobyek
4. On the Teacher Menu, select “Unlock Data Files.”
5. Select the class or student you wish to unlock.
6. Click on the Unlock button and respond that you are sure. The file should now be unlocked.
7. Click Done and return to normal use of the program.
