| Learn About the SAT |
The SAT Reasoning test changed in 2005. One of the major changes is the addition of a Writing section to the test which includes an essay. Currently about 20% of colleges and universities use the Writing section as part of their testing admissions criteria.

| Register for the SAT Online |
Students planning on applying to four-year colleges should take two or three SAT Reasoning tests beginning in the Spring of the junior year.

| The SAT Subject Tests |
The SAT Subject tests are required by the UCs (University of California)schools and some other selective colleges and universities. Check with the schools you are interested in. For the UC's, you must take two subject tests in two different subject areas. If you take the math subject test, the UC will not accept Math Lvl 1 but will accept Lvl 2.

The ACT is an alternate test to taking the SAT Reasoning test. Colleges will accept either. Go to the link and you can learn about and/or register for the ACT.
