Taking standardized college admissions tests is a necessary part of applying to four-year colleges and universities. Get all you need to know and register for the SAT or ACT.
Testing Information (VCS CEEB #053468)
The SAT Reasoning test changed in 2005. One of the major changes is the addition of a Writing section to the test which includes an essay. Currently about 20% of colleges and universities use the Writing section as part of their testing admissions criteria.

Students planning on applying to four-year colleges should take two or three SAT Reasoning tests beginning in the Spring of the junior year.

~If you miss a late registration deadline, see Mr. Gray about taking the test Standby.

The SAT Subject tests are required by the UCs (University of California)schools and some other selective colleges and universities. Check with the schools you are interested in. For the UC's, you must take two subject tests in two different subject areas. If you take the math subject test, the UC will not accept Math Lvl 1 but will accept Lvl 2.

The ACT is an alternate test to taking the SAT Reasoning test. Colleges will accept either. Go to the link and you can learn about and/or register for the ACT.

Learn about the Collegeboards AP program. Village offers 13 different AP classes.

Here are some contact numbers for some SAT Preparation organizations. Village does not endorse any of these companies but provides this for your information.

All students taking the PSAT will have free access to College Board's "Quickstart" online where students can create a portfolio for college and career planningand study for the SAT. (http://apps.collegeboard.com/psatextra
