Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go.Joshua 1:7
The athletic program at Village Christian High School is designed to enrich the spiritual, mental, physical, and emotional well-being of all athletes by providing competitive opportunities that develop lifelong habits and values such as teamwork, commitment, perseverance, sportsmanship, integrity, and self-discipline. The athletic program is an extension of the school’s high quality, Christ-centered educational program that seeks to bring honor and glory to God.
The Crusaders have a long history of competitive excellence in the Gold Coast Athletic Conference and in the CIF Southern Section, which includes multiple CIF Championships, as recent as the 2007 Girls Volleyball team. I anticipate another year of outstanding performances and achievements, personal and team growth, and fond memories.
Your role as parents, boosters, and spectators is important and cannot be underestimated. You serve to underscore the positive values learned though competitive experiences, and to support the efforts and successes of individual players and teams. Please encourage our athletes and coaches to their highest levels of effort and achievement while maintaining a godly perspective on winning, losing, and the pursuit of excellence.
Thank you for your faithful support of VCS athletics. I truly appreciate each of you who play a positive role in the lives of our athletes. These young men and women will one day compete in the arena of life, and your encouragement and support of their efforts today and throughout their high school years will go a long way in helping them achieve genuine success in the future.
Let me leave you with this quote, which we are trying to instill in your students.
"Success is peace of mind which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you did your best to become the best you are capable of becoming." - John Wooden
