Elementary Art
This year Students in 2nd - 5th grade will need to acquire a sketchbook for art journaling. Preferably 9" x 12" at least 60lb paper containing at least 50 sheets. http://www.dickblick.com/ or Dick Blick stores are a great place to find a book like this.
Objectives for the year:
Each grade level will gather practical knowledge of the basic
principles of art (color, line, texture, shape, form, value,
space, etc.) through multimedia presentations, teacher
modeling, and hands-on art experiences using a wide variety
of art materials (such as oil pastel, watercolor, clay, chalk,
collage, etc.) In addition to our integrated projects, your child
will add to their knowledge of art history as they are introduced
to the lives, artwork, and techniques of great artists! They
will have the opportunity to apply this knowledge as they
create works in the artist's famous style.
