Bits and Pieces
Dear Parents,
SAT's:It is that time of year again, time for the annual SAT extravaganza. Because a student's results are improved by their attitude, please help your child succeed by making sure that they get enough sleep, have a nutritious breakfast, and have an extra snack in their lunch (we will be taking a break midway each morning and having a snack).
State Board:The students have begun working on their state board project. This is their open house project and some of it will be started in class, while a lot of it is to be completed at home. Please do not let your child wait until the last minute to complete his or her board. This project should become part of their nightly homework responsibility until it is completed.
A Walk Through the American Revolution: Our program is in the morning on May 9. Each student will be assigned two or three parts to memorize. Please help your son or daughter to memorize their character's lines, and help them to dress up for the part as well. Costuming and memorizing lines helps to make our American Revolution come alive (and bring extra point for your child's group competition).
Tests:This week there will be: Johnny Tremain vocabulary, math (time and length conversions). and social studies
Reminders: Be sure to make sure that you student is reviewing their notes and vocabulary for social studies and science. The sooner that they begin studying for their tests the better they will do on them. Not to mention that they will be a lot less stressed.
