Homework for the week of May 14th
Monday:
Bible - say verses 3 times
Spelling - write brilliant-descriptive two times in syllables, in cursive; complete vocabulary homework
Math - correct the Ch. 8 pretest, Ch. 8 test on Wednesday
Tuesday:
Bible - say verses 3 times
Spelling - write development-eventually two times in syllables, in cursive; complete vocabulary homework
Math - p. 356 #1-31 odds, Ch. 8 test tomorrow
Wednesday:
If you are doing a California Cookie, complete it and cover it completely with clear plastic wrap (taped down around the edges). Re-read the directions to be sure that you have followed them all, then bring it to school Thursday morning. I look forward to seeing them! :)
Thursday:
Bible - say verses 3 times
Spelling - do a pretest; prepare for rule 4, silent e jobs, and syllabication
Math - none due to Open House at night
Additional information:
**Open House is this Thursday from 6-8pm. Come and see what we have been working on this year, and visit 5th grade classrooms to see what you will do next year.
**Return yellow folders on Thursday.
Spelling Vocabulary Homework:
Your child will need to choose 2 unfamiliar words from the location listed above (the words they are writing in syllables). They are to write a definition for each word using their own words (not copied from a dictionary). They will also need to demonstate the meaning of the word by choosing ONE of the following options.
1) Write one sentence per word. The sentence needs to demonstrate the meaning of the word.
2) Draw a picture for each word that demonstrates the meaning of the word.
