I have a B.S. in Geology from the California Institute of Technology (2001). My science course work was mostly in geology, physics, chemistry, and math. I strive to teach science as a process or a way of knowing rather than as a body of knowledge, but my classes still tend to be content-driven due to the nature of high school curricula, state standards, and College Board requirements

This is my 9th year teaching at VCS; it's my 6th year teaching AP Biology, 5th year teaching Advanced Chemistry, and 4th year teaching Physics and AP Environmental Science. In previous years, I have also taught Biology (6 years), Chemistry (1 year), Human Anatomy (1), and Earth Science (1).
