Additional Help: you may come any day (except Thursdays) for extra help. I will be in my classrroomright after school until at least 3:30. We will also strat the '5 point club' - If your average drops to an F, you will earn 5 extra pointsevery time you come for extra help after school. You must stay at least 1/2 hour and do actual work, including asking quetions.



List of materials you need for Geometry:

- you need to cover your book and keep it covered the rest of the year!!!

- pencils

- colored pencils (for geometry art; distinguising between certain patterns and aspects of the pictures)

- a ruler with inches and centimeters

- a compass

- a protractor

- a three ring binder

- calculator (TI-36 or higher)

- paper

- graph paper



Homework guidelines: do all homework in pencil on the proper paper, example, if there is a graph problem in the homework it must be done on graphing paper. Draw with the proper tools. Always use a ruler to draw lines, segments, etc. USe compass to draw circles, etc. Show work.



Extra, Extra, read all about it:  Extra credit.

You may choose to do two of the extra credit assignments per quarter. You will receive 20 points on a quiz. (if your work seems extra special, lot of time, etc, I may consider giving you more points).

1.  Design and build a model house, plane, boat, etc. It may be made out of paper, cardboard, plastic, sugar cubes, etc.

2.  Design and build a polyhedron. See the web for ideas. Build it and decorate it. The plans you find on the web are not big enough. You will have to enlarge the model.

3. Draw an architectural drawing of a building or a house.

4. Build a kite that will actually fly

5.  Read articles (or watch some clips on Youtube) about the practical use of geometry. Write a one page summary and turn in the articles or list the videos you watched.

6. Draw a scale drawing of your house (or other house), blueprint style with measurements

7.  Make a Golden Rectangle









Quiz/test second chance guidelines:

Your grade must be a 69 or below.

You must redo the quiz or test within one week from the original taking of the quiz or test, example, 

To redo a test you must first study with me one time and then come back and redo the test, both within one week fro mthe original taking of the test!!!

You will be taking an entirely new quiz or test.

You'll receive the higher of the two grades.
