Our entire student body participates in our annual community service day in February, going out into the neighborhood and beyond to serve at homeless shelters, food centers and other community organizations. VCServes is an immersive learning experience that takes students out of the classroom, places them in over 30 different project teams and sends them into metro Los Angeles, the San Fernando and San Gabriel Valleys.
First, they learn what compassion and justice mean, then they live it out through hands-on participation, and then, in turn, they can lead others to do the same. Students prepare for the day through chapel speakers, grade-level discussion and small group dialogue.
