MS/HS Minutes

January 7, 2008

President Debbie Sponsler welcomed everyone to the meeting and said an opening prayer.  She informed all present that Treasurer June Sweeney and Secretary Christine Zeiger were absent, so Vice President Kristi Herrera began taking the minutes for the January meeting.

Guest Speakers

There were no guest speakers this month.

Secretary’s Report

The December 5, 2007 minutes were distributed by Debbie for review.  Vice President Maria Barbario made a motion to approve the minutes; Theresa Marco seconded the motion.  A vote was taken and the minutes were approved.  Upon arrival, Secretary Christine Zeiger began taking minutes for the January meeting.

Treasurer’s Report

There was no Treasurer’s Report this month.

Old Business

• Christmas Buffet For Teachers and all VCS Personnel- This event was a huge success.  Debbie thanked everyone who volunteered and gave a special thanks to the co-chairs of this event Teresa Marco and Leticia Schwager.  Maria and Kristi were also graciously thanked for doing the decorating for this event.
• PTF Yearbook Ad- Debbie expressed her thanks to Maria Barbario for completing our ad for the yearbook.

Coming Up Soon

• Debbie announced important events on our school calendar and encouraged everyone to take note of these dates. 
• Cram Candy for Students- Volunteers were asked to stay following today’s meeting, in order to help assemble the Wonka brand candy for distribution later this month.  Debbie Boyd obtained all the candy, and also prepared notes with Bible verses which were to be attached to the candy.  The candy will be delivered to the high school and middle school offices on January 17^th  for distribution to the students during the week of finals which is the following week.

Next Big Event

• Valentine’s Day Balloon Sale- Debbie asked for volunteers to work on Feb. 14^th to help blow up the helium balloons anytime between 7:00 am and noon.  There will be counting days to organize preorders, possibly on Feb. 6^th , 8^th  & 13^th , as needed.  Talk to Debbie to confirm these dates.

Continuing Events

• Campus Prayer Walk-Debbie reminded everyone that the Campus Prayer Walk is led by Susan Kendall-Bell every Friday morning at 8:40 a.m.

Final Note- Debbie shared an inspirational email with everyone present and a “request for prayers” from the Executive PTF meeting.

Our next PTF meeting will be held on February 4, 2008 at 1:15 p.m.
