Thank you so much for your prayers, love, and support over the last few
days. We are so blessed by this community and continue to pray for emergency
crews and for everyone affected by the La Tuna Canyon Fire.
The school will be open tomorrow, and we have been carefully monitoring
local air quality. Sun Valley has been under a smoke advisory through
the weekend, and the forecast predicts an air quality index of “moderate”
(defined as: unusually sensitive people should consider reducing prolonged
or heavy exertion) for Tuesday, September 5.
We will ensure the students avoid vigorous outdoor and indoor exertion
while they are on campus. However, your child’s health is paramount,
and if he or she has lung or respiratory conditions such as asthma, please
consider keeping them home from school.
Please contact the appropriate school office if your student will be out
for the day, and they will receive an “excused absence.”
While classes will be held as scheduled, we are committed to taking every
precaution to keep your child safe.
Additionally, please double check road conditions and potential closures
tomorrow morning before heading to campus as this information has been
fluid throughout the weekend.
Thank you again for your care and concern these past few days. We are overwhelmed
by the outpouring of service, especially during this morning’s clean-up
effort. All left-behind equipment is now with the Facilities Department,
so if you are missing anything, please check in at extension 276.
