College and career planning begins early in childhood. While in elementary school, parents and students make decisions that will impact future education and career options. For example, choosing to have your child at Village Christian Schools provides tremendous opportunities for excellent development in every way including college and career. Additionally, how well the student performs at every level while in school will impact future options. That’s because future options are dependent upon past performance. This is also true when it comes to curriculum choices. Curriculum choices lead to college choices which lead to career options.
Career development is a long process and it comes in stages and students need to go through them. The choices a student makes today are all part of his career development. The time spent on homework, the athletic competitions, the music being performed or listened to, the church involvement, the friendships being made, the clubs, the hobbies and jobs are all part of the big picture.
Like every area of life and thought, the vocations and one’s career development are essential components of one’s life as a Christian (Eph 4:1).
