SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING & MATHEMATICS (STEM)
WELCOME TO STEM
In today's global society, excellence in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics and its relevant resources is essential. In a world increasingly driven by these disciplines, a student’s ability to gain mastery in these areas and apply it to a global platform is becoming crucial. The STEM concentration leads to careers and research in positions such as biologist, engineer, computer programmer, architect, medical technician, dentist, veterinarian, geologist, biochemist, physicist, and robotics.

MEET SALLY STEM
Sallie chose STEM because of her passion for science and her ability in math. As a sophomore, she will take algebra 2 and chemistry, as well as an online class in forensic science. She will also attend lectures at Cal Tech with her fellow classmates and write her research paper on emerging technologies. In her junior year, she joins the Engineering Club and prepares for the JPL Challenge. For her Junior Showcase she will write a research paper on the design process her team used for the challenge. She will take AP chemistry, pre-calculus and an online class in veterinary science. She is also earning practicum points for a summer program in biochemistry at UCLA. In her senior year, she will take AP biology and AP calculus. Her Senior Project is to enter the Intel International Science and Engineering Competition. Through her numerous practicum experiences and her work in her concentration she will graduate with honors. She has been admitted to her top choice colleges and will choose the best program for her emerging skills.
