Experience all six VCS Concentrations as students showcase their career-building projects in an open house-style event.

A foundational High School tradition is returning after a COVID-19 pause — Spark Symposium, the High School Open House!

Spark is this Wednesday, April 6 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. This Concentrations® showcase event is modeled after a professional conference or symposium with live presentations (keynote addresses / breakout sessions) and exhibit halls. Students will be presenting projects from their seminar classes, so attendance is expected for students. Parents and families are also invited.

We are also excited to feature two live events, which will be presented at 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and again at 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. To experience all that Spark has to offer, plan to start your evening with one of these performances and ending with the other. One is a special, one-night only, original performance by PFAME students in the Auditorium, and the other is our annual VFAME film festival presented in the Black Box Theatre (behind the Kendall Pavilion).

From 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., students will be presenting projects in three exhibit spaces. First, the Library will be open for the on-going exhibit “Disruption and Response,” presented by students in our social science classes. In the Art Gallery (which is adjacent to the Auditorium and accessed from either inside the Auditorium or the parking lot), VFAME students will be presenting their artwork. In the Kendall Pavilion, students from EGL, HE, MSJ, STEM, and VFAME will be sharing the projects they have completed.

It is an “Open House,” but there are two efficient ways to ensure you see everything!
