crewsader leadership
UPCOMING EVENT
C.R.E.W. (Compassionate, Respectful, Equality and Welcome) is a leadership class seventh grade students may apply to take in eighth grade. CREW Leaders should be respectable role models, have excellent communication skills, leadership potential, strong faith, GPA of 3.0 or higher, and sense of responsibility. CREW Leaders have a tremendous influence on our new students and learn many valuable leadership skills in the process. Plus, it will be fun!!
What does a CREW Leader do? CREW Leaders are trained to work with the incoming sixth grade students as they transition to middle school. After three days of training, the CREW Leaders will run sixth grade orientation before school starts in August. Each CREW Leader will be given a small group of sixth grade students to meet at orientation and to befriend during the first few weeks of school. Additionally, throughout the school year, CREW Leaders will meet on a regular basis with their student groups to touch base, discuss problems, and provide spiritual, social and academic support. We believe that the more contact a sixth grader has with his/her CREW Leader the more successful the sixth grader will be. CREW Leaders also impact all middle school students through teaching seminar classes and organizing middle school events.
CREW Leaders will meet as a class, and as a Seminar group through 8th grade, with the CREW Leader class taking the place of 8th grade Bible in their schedule. A Biblical perspective of leadership, character development, relationships and mentoring/discipleship will be a foundation for the overall program.
