New Student Assessment: If you have not taken Strength and Conditioning through the Village Sports Performance Program before or you are unsure of what level your student should be in, please email us at vcsstrength@villagechristian.org

Strength and Conditioning is no longer a leg up, but a necessity to compete to protect yourself, others, and promote healthier lifestyle practices that student-athletes can use beyond athletics.

No student-athlete is the same, and our strength and conditioning philosophy supports that with a tier based individualized system. This will ensure that each individual isn’t participating in activity prematurely, and is receiving sufficient challenges day to day that promote improvement.

Strength
In order to move yourself, and others, you must be strong. Over the course of the program we hope to improve every student-athlete’s strength significantly, by helping them understand the core techniques, while pushing them mentally and physically to new milestones.

Speed
Speed is a bi-product of applied strength and technique, which we teach both. Breaking down sprint mechanics and the different way the movements we do during weight training apply to the activity, it simply makes running easier and more efficient, guaranteeing a faster student-athlete.

Agility
Moving in a straight line is important, but most sports require you to move in multiple directions quickly. How we improve agility is by implementing the concepts of our core movements, while applying new stressors and situations to an athlete. Building skill on top of a base at appropriate paces rather than forcing skill on top of chaos.

Test Days
In order to see what your needs are everyone must participate in pre-program testing. The testing will allow us to create your individualized program. Testing will occur in three month cycles, so we can evaluate the progress of the student-athlete, and see whether to move forward with the next phase of programming, or re-assess the student-athletes needs so they can move forward into the program. If you miss a test day, don't worry, there will be a make-up test day on the 2nd week of each month.

Testing begins Saturday, September 12
