MS and HS Dance Company Audition Info
If you are planning to be in MS or HS Dance Company for the 2021-22 school year, you must come to the auditions/assessments on Monday, June 7!
MS Dance Company is open to all 6th - 8th grade students, no experience required. You will be placed in either MS Dance Company A or MS Dance Company B. Please learn the choreography on this video prior to June 7. CLICK HERE for Choreography Video
HS Dance Company is open to all HS students (rising 9th -12th grade). You will need to meet the skill level requirements that will be assessed at your audition in order to be placed in this class. Choreography will be taught in person at the audition.
Auditions will be held in the Band Room.
Here are the audition times:
- 6th grade students (rising): 12:00-12:30pm
- 7th grade students (rising): 12:30-1:00pm
- 8th grade students (rising): 1:00-1:30pm
- 9th-12th grade students (rising): 2:00-4:00pm
- Leotard and tights or leggings
- Jazz or ballet shoes
- Shorts over leotard (optional)
- NO sweatpants or baggy clothes
- Hair must be up in a ponytail
* If you are a beginner and do not own dance clothing, please wear something as close to these items as possible and bring socks.
MEET THE INSTRUCTOR | KIM PATTERI
Kim Patteri, Dance Instructor, has toured internationally with the renowned dance company, Les Ballet Jazz de Montreal, swung thirteen roles in the Toronto Broadway Production of Beauty and the Beast, danced opposite Grammy Award winner Celine Dion, was an original member of the Canadian pop sensation group, KONNEXION, and performed in numerous other regional and industrial shows. On camera, Mrs. Kim was a Rockette in The Flintstones: Viva Rock Vegas, played Wasp Woman opposite Brendan Frasier in Monkeybone, and appeared in over fifty television shows and commercials. As a choreographer, Ms. Kim assisted two thousand performers in the Opening Ceremonies of the 1996 Special Olympics, Guys and Dolls, Anne Of Green Gables, and the world premiere of Ben Hur: The Musical. Ms. Kim studied dance at the prestigious York University and on scholarship at The Studio Dance Theatre of Toronto, Canada. As a teacher, Mrs. Kim has taught every age and every style of dance in studios, workshops, master classes and colleges all over the world, including Sheridan College Performing Arts (Toronto), Dance Factory (Montreal), Pineapple Studios (London), The Edge (Los Angeles), Dance Precisions (Yorba Linda) and Orange County Song and Dance (Huntington Beach).
