MEET THE INSTRUCTOR | AMY MARTENS

Amy Martens, Band Director, grew up in a musical family (with both parents Band Directors!). She is no stranger to the world of music. Beginning with piano at the age of four and adding flute in elementary school, she has been studying and performing music her whole life. She is a graduate of Azusa Pacific University, earning her Bachelor of Arts degrees in Music and Biblical Studies, and a Master of Music degree in Flute Performance. During her time at APU, she was the principal flutist in various ensembles, and had the opportunity to be a soloist with an orchestra while on tour in Italy. Besides her work at Village, Ms. Martens also performs regularly with the Corona Symphony Orchestra and the Symphonic Winds of the Pacific, as well as teaching privately and freelancing around Los Angeles.
