Rising Star International Student Camps

At Village Christian School, Los Angeles, California

Winter 2017 * Ages 8-18

Experience the life of an American middle or high school student by attending classes and student events at Village Christian School, one of the top-rated independent schools in Los Angeles.

Students will attend Math, Science, English, History, Arts and Music classes and participate in lectures, student activities and group projects. The week begins with a welcome ceremony and campus tour and ends with a closing ceremony at which visiting international students will receive a Certificate of Completion signed by the school’s headmaster.

Below is a typical daily itinerary:

Students Depart

The Student Shadow Program

  1. Middle and or high school class shadowing opportunities each weekday
  2. Inclusion in certain on-campus events such as assemblies, sporting events & performances
  3. American student ambassadors
  4. Fun and interactive classes ESL/American Culture classes each afternoon
  5. Daily snack (granola bar or equivalent) and beverage (bottled water) each afternoon
  6. Welcome ceremony with welcome gift bag for each student
  7. Closing ceremony with completion certificate for each student
  8. Dedicated program director

* No school on Monday, January 16, so program runs Tuesday-Friday

The per-student prices above are camp program tuition only. Additional services and related costs are below.

Lodging

Groups have three options for lodging:

  • Host Families - Groups can arrange for American host families through AmeriStudent. Contact Robert Chevalier, robert@ameristudent.com, www.ameristudent.com
  • Hotel - (NOTE: Use of this lodging option requires use of Village Christian School buses for daily pick-ups and drop-offs as well as daily catered breakfast, lunch and dinner. See below for costs.

Transportation

Village Christian School buses are available at a cost of:

  • $2.80 per mile, plus
  • $26.00 per hour per driver, plus
  • $60.00 administrative fee per trip

Drivers are paid for 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after the trip for inspections and cleaning. Maximum 48 people per bus. If Group is transporting luggage, an additional bus may be required.

Snacks & Lunch

Students may purchase snacks and lunch at the school cafeteria throughout the day. Students can choose from salads, sandwiches, pizza, hamburgers, Mexican food and much, much more. An average lunch costs $8.00-$10.00 per day. Only U.S. currency is accepted at the cafeteria.
