Rising Star International Student Summer Camp
At Village Christian School, Los Angeles, California
American Fun Camp Students from other countries experience a typical American summer camp including sports, fellowship, games and activities. Along with American students, international students play basketball, volleyball, soccer, challenge course, and a lot more!
Science Discovery Camp Students will work in American biology, chemistry or engineering labs in this fun and interactive science camp. Working with professional American scientists, students will conduct unique experiments and keep a daily journal. The day ends with the Rising Star Science Fair where students will display their science experiments for an audience.
Career Discovery Camp At the Rising Star Career Discovery Camp, students will explore different broad career areas such as Business & Entrepreneurship; Science, Technology & Environment; Visual Arts; Performing Arts: and Law & Public Service (police, fire and emergency). Students will experience a different career area through a series of discussions, activities and guest speakers. By the end of the day, students will begin to think about their own career choices in a meaningful way and put themselves on the path to becoming a true “Rising Star”!
Hollywood Film Making Camp Lights! Camera! Action!! Here in Los Angeles, the entertainment capital of the world, students will write, produce, direct, shoot and edit their own short films in small teams. In this hands-on program, professional filmmakers will teach students everything that goes into making a movie.
Healthy Baking Classes Baking class is the most popular class in summer camp. International students and local American students work in teams, putting all the ingredients together, touching it, smelling it, using oven, stove and microwave, waiting with excitement, and tasting their baking products in the end..... It has been fun, interactive and very excited learning experience.
Language Art Classes Two or three international students are led by one American student, working as one team. The American teachers guild the team leaders and the team members work together. Activities, games, projects, presentations...
American Culture Classes This class involves American history, culture, people's life style, manner, hobbies, food.....
Sports Fun Classes Students from other countries experience a typical American summer camp including sports, fellowship, games and activities. Along with American students, international students play basketball, volleyball, soccer, challenge course, and a lot more!
Leadership Classes This is the class lead by the guest speaker,who is either the head of school, school principal or someone in the management position. The guest speaker will share their experiences as the leaders, and encourage class discussions.
Public Speech Classes This class is special designed for Asian students, to encourage them present themselves in front of public. American students and Chinese Students work together, discuss topics, individual present and group present in front of the class in the end.
