  • Our motto – “College-bound from kindergarten, Christ-centered for life” – anchors the way we attempt to challenge our students and provide them with opportunities to thrive. One way we strive to reach these goals is through rigorous academics, including our AP classes.

We are proud to announce that this year our students not only took the highest number of AP exams ever administered at VCS (263), they also passed the most tests in school history (195). “Passing” an AP exam requires a score of 3 or above on a 5-point scale and results in earning college credit at most institutions. The previous highs were 255 and 176 set in 2007 and 2011, respectively.

This year’s figures represent a 74-percent passing rate, second only to 2011, when 76 percent passed this exceptionally challenging assessment.

Additionally, a school-record 2.2 tests were passed per senior, and a total of 54 fives (highest score possible) were earned across the 14 different college-level subjects tested (representing 21 percent of all scores).

These incredible achievements are a testament to our students’ hard work and commitment as well as the skill and dedication of our teachers.

We are so proud of the students and faculty, and we commend each one of them on a job well done.
