Crusader Golf Classic Raises Support for VCS Athletics
On September 18, 2015, more than 100 golfers played 18 holes at the 18th annual Crusader Golf Classic.
All in support of Village Christian Athletics.
“The Booster Club pulled off another amazing golf tournament this year,” said Athletic Director Kevin Aust. “The preliminary numbers look outstanding and the Booster Club will use these funds to directly benefit Crusader Athletes.”
Hosted by VCS and the Booster Club at Angeles National Golf Club, this year’s event featured a putting competition, 18-hole tournament, on-course games and competitions, raffle prizes, and a catered reception for the 112 participating golfers.

Proceeds from the Crusader Golf Classic will fund athletics initiatives of The Village Campaign, including team uniforms, equipment, facilities, and other student-athlete and coaching needs.
“From the Booster Club, we want to say ‘thank you’ for another great event at Angeles National Golf Club,” said Booster Club President Dudley Callahan. “This year’s tournament will also go to support the renovation of the boys and girls locker rooms.”
The renovation, a Village Campaign initiative, includes the addition of sport-specific team rooms and upgraded facilities.
“I am so grateful to the Athletic Booster Club, the countless volunteers, and the sponsors who contributed to a great day of philanthropy and fun,” said Head of School Tom Konjoyan. “Our student-athletes and coaches are the beneficiaries of all the generosity that went into this year’s tournament.”

The Booster Club’s next major event is the second annual Homecoming Dance on October 24.

“The athletic department relies heavily on the support of the Booster Club, and the golf tournament is its largest fundraiser of the year,” Aust added. “I would like to thank the Booster Club and our VCS families for their wonderful support of Village Christian Athletics. We could not do this without them.”
