Summer Projects / Campaign Update
The 2017-2018 school year is only a few weeks away, and we cannot wait to have everyone back on campus. First, however, we’d like to share some exciting updates.
THE VILLAGE CAMPAIGN
WE DID IT! Three years ago, we launched this ambitious effort to raise a staggering $2.8 million, and because of your incredible generosity and love for Village Christian, we are so proud to say that we have reach this landmark goal.
Thank you to everyone who partnered with us to implement new and exciting programs; build and remodel numerous facilities; and provide students campus-wide with innovative learning opportunities. This is such an amazing community!
SUMMER IMPROVEMENTS
Between Campaign and annual facilities funds, we are excited to have the following projects completed by the time you come back for Meet the Teacher Night on August 17:
Digital Marquee
This great new communication piece is affixed to the size of the chapel and will be utilized to provide important updates and announce upcoming events. The screen also has the capability to play videos and stream live content.
Chapel A/V System
Our chapel now features upgraded audio equipment (new microphones and incredible Bose® speakers), a brand-new projector and automatic screen, and additional lighting treatments.
Enhanced Security
The campus exit has been equipped with an automatic electric gate, which opens upon approach from inside campus. Additionally, more cameras have been installed at a variety of locations.
Middle School Desks
Numerous classrooms have been equipped with new desks designed to be configurable for better cooperative learning and teacher interaction/mobility.
Elementary Classrooms
We have been busy outfitting our 21st century flexible-seating classrooms, and many new rooms have been refurbished to reflect this change as well. Students will now have choices as to where they want to sit and how they work best.
Auditorium Upgrades
Additional sound and acoustic treatments have been added to the auditorium, helping enhance each and every show.
New Beacon Classroom
We have also added a new student-centered space for our Beacon program, allowing us to better provided one-on-one focused attention to students who need additional academic assistance.
Kindergarten Playground
Like the first-grade playground, the black rubber chips in the Kindy play area has been replaced with padded green turf. Not only does it look great, but it is safer and kids will no longer go home with rubber chips in their shoes.
Campus Improvements/Maintenance
Dozens of classrooms have been remodeled campus-wide, new flooring has been addressed, and a variety of landscaping and maintenance projects have been completed to keep our school updated and looking fantastic.
Infrastructure
Major investments have been made into our internet bandwidth and network infrastructure to support our 21st century classrooms.
