VCS Freshman Christian Kang Places Second in Violin at International Competition
Congratulations to Village Christian freshman Christian Kang, who recently placed second in violin at the American Protégé International Music Talent Competition.
You can view his full performance below:
Up next, Kang will perform on November 21, 2021, at Carnegie Hall in New York City, where he will formally receive his award.
According the competition’s official website, “American Protégé is looking for genuinely talented people, who have creativity and stage charisma.”
Kang’s achievement comes after submitting his video and besting a field of competitors from around the world.
In addition to the United States, winners were selected from nations such as Canada, Costa Rica, Mexico, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, and more.
“I play the violin so I can perform for the Lord in return for giving me this talent – just like David did in the Bible,” Kang said. “I love playing violin because after all the practice I am going through, you can show what you learned in front of people at the very end."
