Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
We are delighted that so many of you were able to come to the Lands' End uniform fitting event. We received overwhelmingly positive comments about the new uniform items. However, we also know that there are still some questions about our new uniforms. So, we have listed some Frequently Asked Questions and our answers below. Hopefully these will help answer any questions you might have. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you still have questions.
Q: What items can be carried over from the current school year?
A: All current VCS polo shirts, with the shield logo, in red, grey, and black can be worn next school year. You can also wear any VCS logo sweaters or sweatshirts that are not navy blue. MS/HS students may also continue wearing VCS team or club polos and college/university sweatshirts.
Q: Do all bottoms have to be Land’s End with the VCS logo?
A: Yes, all bottoms must be purchased from the VCS online store on the Lands’ End website and display the appropriate logo. They have a variety of sizes and fits to ensure every student feels comfortable in their pants, shorts, and skorts. If you have difficulty finding the right fit, you can call customer service for assistance at 1-800-469-2222.
Q: Can I wear any of my current navy blue uniform items?
A: No, navy blue has been removed from the dress code in order to stay consistent with our brand and school colors. We have added black polo shirts in place of navy blue for our elementary students.
Q: Does all outerwear need a VCS logo?
A: Yes, all outerwear must have a VCS logo, but there are a few exceptions. In the event of extreme weather, cold-weather coats (such as a parka) or rain jackets may be worn but must be removed in the classroom. MS/HS students can also wear college/university sweatshirts.
Q: Can I return items to Lands’ End even with the logo or if it has been worn and washed?
A: Yes, Lands’ End uniforms are guaranteed. Love it or send it back! Simply call the customer service number to begin your return/exchange.
Q: Do students need to wear different shoes than the current school year?
A: No, the shoe policy in the Uniform Guide is the same policy that is currently written in the Student Handbook.
Q: What is a skort?
A: The Lands’ End skort is simply a skirt with shorts built in underneath. Skorts are not shorts in the back with a skirt look in the front.
Q: How much is this going to cost?
A: Lands’ End is one of the most affordable uniform companies available! If you sign up on the Lands’ End email list on their website, you will receive frequent offers ranging from 25%-50% off your purchase throughout the year.
Q: How will the new uniform be enforced?
A: Dress code violations must be corrected before re-entry into the classroom. The violation may be corrected by having a parent/guardian bring the approved uniform in a timely manner. If the parent/guardian is unable to bring the approved items, uniforms will be available on campus for purchase. The students' tuition account will be charged for all items required to correct the violation.
Switching companies and uniform policies are changes, which due to the collapse of True Grits/Parker, were unavoidable. We know the cost of buying new uniform items will impact our families, and that is why we picked Lands' End for its great combination of value and quality. Ultimately, we want to partner with you, our parents, to get you the correct information so that you can ensure your student is in uniform and following school policy.
