Helpful Tips

Tips to help us to better serve you and your student, review the bus rules with your student.

Be ready to board the bus when it arrives. This means your student should be standing
outside the car (unless it is raining), ready to board when the bus pulls up. They should
not be eating the rest of their breakfast or getting their hair fixed. We ask you to be at the
stop 5 minutes before the stop time. We try to run on time but things like traffic do get in
the way. If you are on time, it helps us to run on time.

If your child only rides on an occasional basis, it is particularly important that your child
is standing outside of your car on the days that they are riding. Even though the driver is
watching for listed riders, if your child only rides once in a while they may not recognize
your car and may not stop. We would appreciate your help to be sure that this does not

If your student cannot walk from the bus stop alone, please have patience while waiting
at a stop in the afternoon. Again, we ask that you be at the stop 5 minutes before the stop
time. Understand that we, as well as you, have no control over traffic conditions, road
detours, weather conditions, etc. We do our best to get to your stop on time. But if you
are not there on time, it puts us even further behind.

If your student has a bus tag, please be sure they have the tag on their backpack on the
days you want them to ride the afternoon bus.
This is our “clue” as to what your student
will be doing each day. Students in Kindergarten through 3rd grade riding on the route
buses must have a tag to ride the route bus. Remember: No tag, no ride. Replacement
tags will be made for you at the cost of $5.00 per tag.

How to save money when a child is an occasional rider: Remember that the discounted
price of the tickets, the 10-Ride pass or Single ticket, only applies if they are
pre-purchased and presented to the driver.
