VCServes 2019 – February 24-26
Jesus called us to "love our neighbor as ourself". In response to this Great Commandment, VCS engages the entire student body in our annual week-of-service called VCServes. This February, our Elementary School will be on-campus engaging in service (project TBD) through their Friendship Circles. Our Middle & High School students will travel off-campus into the greater Los Angeles area to serve at homeless shelters, animal shelters, food centers, churches and other community organizations.
In preparation for VCServes, students learn the biblical meaning of compassion and justice through interactive curriculum, guest chapel speakers, and small group interaction. The actual day of service offers students a hands-on, immersive experience as they learn to care for others in a Christ-centered way.
All Middle & High School students must complete VCS's Release of Liability/Field Trip Permission Form prior to the day of service. (*Note: If you have completed this form for Chapel on the Road, or any VCS field trip, there is no need to complete a duplicate form.) . Be aware that some VCServes locations require their own Medical Waiver for participation. These forms must be completed in addition to the VCS form. To find out if your location requires a permission form, and/or to receive a copy of these forms, please email Lesli Cates: firstname.lastname@example.org
Elementary School forms - please check with the ES Office to see if any forms are required for this year's VCServes experience.
Forms may be submitted to the MS or HS Office.
The deadline for submission is Tuesday, February 18.
